Jake Peavy Vs. Johan Santana – Who Is Better?
Just looking for opinions.

omigod that finale was sooooo sad
anywayz…does anyone know what the song was called?
According to ESPN, Peavy has stated that 5 teams he would be willing to consider and waive his no trade clause are the Cardinals, Cubs, Astros, Dodgers or Braves. Those are who he considers “contenders.” The Padres are looking for young pitching and/or outfield help in return.
Personally, being a Cardinals fan, I hope he gets traded to St Louis. They have plenty of outfielders they can deal and some good utility players. Not so much in the young pitching department, but that depends if they are looking for AA or AAA prospects. They also have more room in their budget to accommodate Peavy’s salary.
The Braves are seen as the front runners because of their depth in the young pitching department, but they dont have too much to deal in the outfield help.
The Cubs, maybe. Depends on if they want to resign Dempster and if they feel their budget can take a big jump. They have plenty of prospects to deal.
Dodgers have been said to be willing to give up Clayton Kershaw and another young pitcher. And with SD also needing help at third they may also be interested in Blake DeWitt.
They Astros have some decent prospects, but I am putting them on the back burner in this one.
Peavy has also stated that he prefers to stay in the NL because he can hit and run the bases. I also think its because he still dominates in the NL.
You know, in that one sketch where he was out to dinner with some friends, and they were talking about vacations, and the friends asked him how Vietnam was when he went there, and he started to sing this song, and the chorus was “And we would all go down together”? I liked that song, and don’t know the name of it. Help?
As a Braves fan I wanna say the Braves is where he will land. But I have this funny feeling the Braves will mess this deal up and Peavy will end up with the Dodgers.
I missed it I don’t even think the networks in my country show it! Can someone please tell me how it ended, it doesn’t have to be in depth, just get the general idea! Thanks heaps!
Look at these lines:
Webb: 5-0, 2.31 ERA, 35 IP, 29 K, 24 H
Peavy: 3-0, 2.00 ERA, 36 IP, 29 K, 25 H
And remember, the game is at Petco Park, a total hitters park. Give the line of the WINNING pitcher also please and thank you.
cuz it said to be continued?
and when does season 2 start to air?
Oswalt and Peavy have very similar situations. They can be traded and bring back a couple of premium prospects for their respective teams. Salary is the only issue. The Stros and Padres will need to pay some of the salary of the pitchers to help make these trades happen. This is even more so with Peavy since he is making 20+ million per year. Some trade targets include Atlanta, Philadelphia, Milwaukee, St Louis, Chicago(cubs), and Arizona. They are both vetoing trades to the AL.
I say, Peavy lands in New York for a set of 3 or 4 prospects centered around Fernando Martinez. San Diego may need to pay 5 mill or so.
Oswalt seems like a great fit for Philadelphia for 1 high ceiling prospect(Carrasco or Happ), 1 mid ceiling prospect(Drabek, ideal), and another low level.
