Fantasy Baseball Help!?

I have a dilemma. I have Derek Jeter as my shortstop. I also have Edgar Renteria on my bench. I will never play Edgar over Jeter, despite Edgars great play. So, apparently nobody wants to trade for Edgar, so I’m thinking about dropping him for somebody I will actually use, like closer. The only available closer is Brett Myers (the Phillies new colser since Tom Gordon went down). I play in a 10 team h2h league.
Here is my lineup:
C Jorge Posada
1b Albert Pujols
2b Jeff Kent
SS Derek Jeter
3b Chipper Jones
OF Manny Ramirez
OF Juan Pierre
OF Hideki Matsui
Util Mark Teixeira
Bench Nick Swisher Edgar Renteria
SP Jake Peavy
SP C.C. Sabathia
SP Brandon Webb
SP Cole Hamels
SP Felix Hernandez
SP Roger Clemens
RP Chris Ray
RP Joe Nathan
RP Trevor Hoffman
DL B.J. Ryan
Edgar Renteria is doing so good it would make me a dick to drop him, but then again I cant use him. What do I do please.

  1. You copuld trade Jeter if you can get something back that you want. If you have two quality players at one position, you can get rid of either of them if the price is right.

  2. NO, don’t dump him out of inpatience.
Ryan is out for the year and Accardo is in. Grab Myers!
Put Renteria in the Util spot till Teixeira gets hot!
You have a good team, what place are you in?

  3. Unless you really need to fill another hole, I would hold onto him for days when Jeter is not playing. Another idea might be to trade him in conjuction with other players for something you are in need of. I would do everything you can to get value out of him before I would just drop him. Look around your league, see who needs a SS, and then hit them with an offer they would be dumb to refuse.
    Peace

  4. don’t cut him trade for a litle less and get a player

  5. then trade jeter to someone who really needs a shortstop and get ALOT in return

  6. I would drop him for a guy who can plug a lot of positions…in a ten team league you might still find BJ Upton (though I doubt it) or someone like Chone Figgins, Ty Wigginton or Freddy Sanchez

  7. Baseball is a long season. I would keep him for Yankee off-days and just in case Jeter gets dinged up.
