Should I Drop Billy Butler For Jair Jurrjens?

I need depth at pitching SP and RP. I would like to drop a position player to add Jair Jurrjens. I have one roster spot open to add a RP. Available: Brian Fuentes, Santiago Casilla, Ryan Franklin.
C Geovany Soto
1b Mark Teixeira
2b Robinson Cano
3b (OF) Ryan Braun
SS Stephen Drew
IF (2b, SS) Erick Aybar
IF (3b, OF) Alex Gordon
OF Nate McLouth
OF Josh Hamilton
OF Carlos Quentin
Util Matt Kemp
Util Brian McCann
BN Evan Longoria, Justin Upton, Billy Butler
DL Troy Tulowitzki
SP Jake Peavy, Brandon Webb, Chris Young, Edinson Volquez, C.C. Sabathia, Max Scherzer
RP Takashi Saito, Brandon Lyon

you pitching is very solid already. jurrjens is doing great things in atlanta. im a huge braves fan so i have watched him pitch a few times already and he has great stuff. but hes no peavy or webb. young is struggling but he will bounce back. volquez has been solid all year but remember liriano. it could happen to anyone. sabathia is an ace but in a hole. scherzer is going back to minors or bullpen soon. your only bet would be to wait it out of jurrjens til scherzer leaves and then you will be sittin pretty!
definalely plug upton in for mccann. you have a very solid team.. good work
First off, why the hell is Justin Upton on your bench????? PUT HIM IN!!!
On your note, no. Butler is going to have a breakout year.
yup jairdens is hot right now and u dont use butler much it looks like
I don’t make that move.
Your staff has a couple aces with Peavy and Webb, a couple hot prospects with Volquez and Scherzer, and good balance with Young and Sabathia. Losing the bench spot to pick up another young pitcher is a gamble. I like Jurrjens a lot and think he’ll be successful the rest of the season. But he could easily fade at the back half of the year because of the amount of innings he’s being asked to put on his arm. Same is true for any young guy like that. Could happen to Volquez, could happen to Scherzer. If Jurrjens is around now, he’ll likely be around in 2 weeks or so once the Diamondbacks need to make a decision on what to do with Scherzer (since Davis will be back from surgery). If they send him down, you could capitalize then.
Butler is playing good ball for the Royals and is one of two truly solid offensive pieces in that lineup. He may not make the difference between winning and losing your league, but he’s helpful and might be a better piece for a trade as opposed to simply a drop. He doesn’t have a position, but that doesn’t hurt his value this year. I’d hang on to him in the short term.
I have to agree with the other point though, Upton needs to be in your lineup. Kemp is hot, but I’d sub Upton for McCann and not think twice about it.
