Should I Trade Adam Dunn And Vernon Wells For Vladimir Guereroro And Carl Crawford? I Also Need Pitching.?

my team consists of the following:
Catcher- Brian McCann
1st Base- Ryan Howard, Albert Pujols, Richie Sexson
2nd Base- Dan Uggla, Tadahito Iguchi
3rd Base- Aramis Ramirez, Hank Blalock
SS-Jimmy Rollins, Rafael Furcal
Outfielders- Carlos Lee, Vernon Wells, Alex Rios, Adam Dunn
Starting Pitchers- Jake Peavy, CC Sabathia, John Lackey
Relief Pitchers- Trevor Hoffman, Joe Nathan
My two extra pitchers are- Curt Schilling and Chris Young

First of all, ouch. I see you dropped Kinsler for Iguchi. They’re talking about putting Kinsler in the 2 spot for Texas and I think he’ll have a great year. Iguchi, especially in a 6 team league, is average. Take that trade before that guy comes to his senses. It’s a no-brainer. Dunn hurts more than he helps. He’s good for homers, and you won’t have a problem with that. Your pitching is very good. Stop worrying. Peavy Sabathia and Lackey will contend for the Cy Young this year. I disagree with some that CC is your worst pitcher. He’ll have a great year barring injuries and his team is young and extremely talented. Your worst pitcher in my opinion is Chris Young. I’ve had him before, and although he plays in a pitcher’s park, he has a tendency to get shelled now and then. So will Schilling with the division he’s in. But both are very good, and I wouldn’t drop either, unless you’ve got guys like Felix Hernandez out there, which is impossible. One guy that should be out there though would be Rich Hill. Grab him and drop Young if he is, be pateient with him, and he’ll pay off big time for you. Other than that and perhaps upgrading 2nd base, your team should dominate.
This is an absolute no brainer for you. You can take this deal and laugh on your way to the bank. I’m surprised others in your league wouldn’t protest this trade.
I see you dropped Weaver for Schilling. My only worry about Schilling is that he pitches in the most explosive offensive division in baseball. It’s no fun to have your pitcher going up against the Yankees 5 or so times a year.
Pitching isn’t your strength, but I think it’s more than adequate. Peavy and Lackey provide ample K’s. Sabathia and Schilling are supported by strong offenses. Chris Young is a nice up-and-comer in a weak division. If you are interested in upping your pitching, Sabathia is your weakest.
Yes! Adam Dunn only gets you homers and his strikeouts will hurt your team. Pujols and Howard will get you homer runs as well as doubles, hits, etc. Carl Crawford will give you much needed steals and OBP. You pitching staff looks good. If there is one pitcher I would get rid of, it is CC Sabathia.
If you are getting Guerrero and Crawford – then yes you should make this deal and run away with it.
It is a pretty good deal for you. Dunn’s bat will likely cool off. Trading while his value is high makes good sense. Although some fantasy experts think he is in for a great year:http://www.fantasydope.com/dopefantasyne…
Carl Crawford is a nice pickup – as long as your league doesn’t deduct points for boneheaded base running. Haven’t seen anything like that play in a while:http://www.tucsoncitizen.com/daily/sport…
Absolutely make that deal.
The only way you need pitching, is if some one else, has something like Santana, Sheets, King Felix, Dice K, Oswalt, K-Rod and Wagner.
Other wise you have to have the best pitching staff in the league.
This must be a 2 team league, there is no way that you end with all that top end talent in a 12 or even a 10 teamer. I’m in an 8 team league and the rosters are much more balanced then this.
You should easily win the league btw.
In a minute – that’s about how long it would take to make that decision at the most. You get needed speed, lose some HR’s, but your BA getting rid of Dunn will make up for it. You could still win HR’s with that lineup.
I’d also dump/trade Sexson for a SP and trade Blalock around June 1st, before he starts his annual 2nd half dive into the waiver wire.
Do it. Let’s match it up, Dunn < Guerrero. Wells < Crawford. Dunn is only hot, has he ever droven in many RBIs. Nope. How about Guerrero. Hmmm… he’s an MVP Candidate. Crawford has the edge on Wells as well.
P.S. How many teams are in your league cuz I don’t know how you have both Pujols and Howard.
Yes – Dunn is a perfect sell high player. Wells and Vlad will put up similar numbers and Crawford may not hit 40 HR’s but he’ll score runs, his power is trending upward and he will get you steals – a rarer commodity than HR’s. Do the deal before it’s pulled back.
